This past weekend while out and about I noticed many people in a hurry. Hurry to get through traffic, hurry to get in line before someone else. Hurry, hurry, hurry. Where was the fire?
I saw rudeness at it’s finest, not to mention a few accidents and all for the sake of potentially shaving off a nano-second of time in line or in traffic.
“Was it worth it?,” I asked myself as I watched on.
As an outsider looking in, I didn’t think so. I didn’t think it was worth ticking others off in line, nor the cost of a fender bender and potential injury.
Here I was standing in judgment of others while I’ve been guilty of hurrying. Hurrying at the cost of something and maybe even someone else’s feelings. Not cool!! (It’s funny how someone else’s behavior can call you out on your own.)
It was at that time I was reminded how being in a hurry has always caused me to get in some sort of trouble.
Hurry as my sidekick has…
…created room for mistakes
…lead to missed opportunities
…damaged a connection
All I can say is thanks Big U(niverse) for the reminder to slow it down. Take it in. Enjoy. Not rush through life.
We will all get where we need to get and not hurrying will ensure that we get there in one piece.
So my friends, I want to invite you to slow it down and make note of all that you are noticing and receiving as result.
Here’s to not hurrying.
