I once had an amazing astrology reading where the astrologer told me something I'll never forget...
"Pam, you were meant to be different. It's your being different that is going to help others own what makes them different."
After that reading, my mind was not only blown, but it began to replay all the mindset ruts I had worked hard to bust! Ruts that kept me from living and working in epic ways. Ruts like...
Being that square peg who was tightly squishing herself into lots of round holes to fit in.
Settling in some stifling and even unhealthy relationships because I didn't feel good enough about me.
Negative self-talk and all the negative stories I told myself that kept me feeling and playing smaller than small.
Staying in jobs that weren't for me, because I didn't really know me.
Allowing others’ expectations of me dictate my direction and my actions.
Needing others' approvaland caring about what they thought because I didn't trust myself enough.
People-pleasing at the cost of my own well-being…to name but a few!
I was reminded of how being buried under those mindset ruts contributed to my being unhappy, unfulfilled, overweight and on the way to becoming an alcoholic! Honestly, I was a bit of a hot mess!
Thankfully that all changed...
As a result of being coached I not only increased my confidence, but I learned a ton about me. What I valued, what made me epic, and why being different was (and is) a very cool thing!
Today, I can say with all the confidence in the world...changing what I believed (my mindset) about myself and about my work in the world made a HUGE difference. It opened doors to possibilities and opportunities (and it's still opening those doors) to live and work in epic ways.
That's why I'm super excited to be able to support others in doing similar...changing their mindset, because what we believe truly does have an impact on what we do.
At the end of the day, I truly believe that…
Every single one of us is meant to be epic, to live and work in epic ways (by our own definition of epic)! And it all starts with our mindset; changing our thoughts so we can change our lives.
So, I just have one question for you, are you ready to own your epic-ness and all that comes with it?
I served as a faculty member of an accredited coach training school for 11 years; teaching some of the finest people in the world about the various coaching skills and how to incorporate them into their coaching practices.
I've quite a few work-related experiences, trying to figure out what I wanted to be when I grew up. For example, a teacher, a business owner of an internet production company, an independent contractor, a VP for an internet start-up, co-founder of a non-profit AIDS prevention organization, a financial service representative for a major bank, and an editor.
I love to cook and have been doing so for fun since I was eight.
I'm a quote junkie. I love a good quote and I collect them.
