I raise my hand and admit it… I’m addicted to amazing quotes. I love them! I collect them like someone collects sports memorabilia or shot glasses from around the world.
There’s not a day that doesn’t go by when I don’t get my quote fix.
They inspire me. They motivate me. They make me think and even move me out of my own way when I need a good shove.
I have gathered hundreds over the years. In the spirit of time, I’ve pulled out a few really cool ones that have been my inspiration as of late. Before I share them I have a request to make. At the end of this post, please share your favorite quote and why it’s your favorite.
In sharing, we won’t just be adding to the collection of cool quotes, but we have the opportunity to lift each other up, create some positive energy, motivate, inspire and encourage.
QUOTES THAT ROCK
“Stop worrying about how it’s going to happen and just belief that it will.” – Unknown
I came across this gem not too long ago when worry was riding shotgun, all day every day. I was growing tired and I asked for some support in kicking worry to the backseat. As always the Universe came through and put this quote in front of me.
Worry is only as strong as we allow it to be.
At the end of the day, when we believe in the good and in what’s possible, we push worry way out of the way.
“Life isn’t about finding yourself. Life is about creating yourself.” - George Bernard Shaw
I’ve come to realize that no amount of searching is going to help any of us find ourselves. We aren’t really lost. We may feel that way, but 9 times out of 10 it’s because we have disconnected from who we are at our core.
Some of the best ways to reconnect with ourselves…
…is to try different things on for size
…to get acquainted with our values, our soul’s DNA
If that sounds appealing, but you’re not sure where to start, please reach out for a 30-minute complimentary consultation.
“Everybody is a genius. But if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid.” - Albert Einstein
I don’t know about you, but I can be my biggest judger. It happens every time I compare myself with someone else.
All I’m really doing is saying that I’m not good enough, that someone is better than me.
I know I’m stating the obvious, but we are all different. We all have skills and qualities that may be different or vary, but that does not mean we are less than.
“Don’t be afraid to have an open mind. Your brain won’t fall out.”
Have you ever missed out on something or someone really cool, because you were quick to judge? I know I have and it’s usually because I’m either scared of trying something new or having a moment of feeling “less than”. Regardless, I recognize that I don’t always have to act on my thoughts, I just have to be open-minded.
When we open our minds we give ourselves more options to choose from and that’s a really awesome thing.
“If you want to awaken all of humanity, then awaken all of yourself. If you want to eliminate the suffering in the world, then eliminate all that is dark and negative in yourself. Truly, the greatest gift you have to give is that of your own self-transformation.” - Lao Tzu
I believe there’s a misconception that being just one person in a sea of many, that as that one person we couldn’t possibly make an impact on a larger scale.
That’s just not true.
What about Mother Teresa? Gandhi? Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.? Einstein? Buddha? Jesus? Nelson Mandela? Maya Angelou?
If we think for one minute that we as individuals can’t make a difference on a grander scale, just know that we can and we do.
We all make a difference in the words that we use, the way we treat ourselves and others, as well as the energy we put out in the world.
What we model makes a difference.
If any of these quotes inspired or moved you, please feel free to take them with you. And as a reminder, if you have a quote that you love, I invite you to share it and to share why it means something to you.
In the meantime, I hope you all have an amazing week. Until next time, much love and light to you…
P.S. If you’re looking for some additional great quotes, I invite you to download “Musings Of A Quote Junkie” as my gift to you.
